CMS Releases Draft Electronic Staffing Data Submission Payroll Policy Manual and Submission Specs

This week CMS released a draft of the policy manual that has been developed, along with submission specs that will be used in the system under development. This is in furtherance of the future expectation for nursing facilities to submit electronic staffing data. While in draft form and there are no current obligations for facilities to begin submitting staffing data, this manual and related information requires member attention at this time.

According to a recent client alert from Proskauer, in February of 2015, the Internal Revenue Services (IRS) released final forms and instructions related to information reporting under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). These forms include Form 1095-B, Health Coverage, Form 1094-B, Transmittal of Health Coverage Information Returns, Form 1095-C, Employer-Provided Health Insurance Offer and Coverage, and Form 1094-C, Transmittal of Employer-Provided Health Insurance Offer and Coverage.

Important Recommendations To Mitigate Provider Payment Risk During Doc Fix Delay

The U.S. Senate will return to the Capitol from its two week Easter recess on April 13th. Reports out of Washington project that, upon its return, the Senate will likely vote to support of the permanent Doc Fix legislation (H.R.2) that was overwhelmingly approved in the House of Representatives last Thursday. It is likewise expected that the effective date of the bill they enact will be retroactive to April 1st.
